10:55:51 AM [Visitor] Are the income guidelines for HealthyStart going to increase for 2010? If so, when? If they have, how can we find out what the income guidelines are?
10:57:00 AM [Jim Ashmore] Not sure yet. Awaiting federal decisions on that matter. Here is a link to the Poverty Guidelines: http://liheap.ncat.org/profiles/povertytables/FY2010/popstate.htm

10:52:47 AM [Visitor] Can a parent who is a citizen and their child is not get assistance for the child?
10:53:52 AM [Jim Ashmore] Potentially. We'll need to look more into the details of the situation. Please come in to 222 E. Central Parkway to apply 7:30-10:30 a.m., Monday-Friday.

10:46:39 AM [Visitor] How can a person who is disabled with no income get medical paid for if his social security has not been granted. The patient needs to go for tests, x-rays, exams, follw-up and prescpritions filled. Does JFS have some responsibility in making sure this is done and paid for? It might take years before the disability benefit is awarded.
10:49:39 AM [Jim Ashmore] Unfortunately, that process is quite lengthy. You can make an application for Disability Medical Assistance and we can prepare a summary of your information and forward it to the State of Ohio for approval. However, please know that too is a lengthy process. You can make application any day, Monday-Friday, 7:30-10:30 a.m., 222 E. Central Parkway, to get the process started. Best of luck

10:41:00 AM [Visitor] How long does a caseworker have to make a decision on a case?
10:41:54 AM [Jim Ashmore] Generally speaking, all eligibility should be reviewed and a decision rendered within 30 days from the date of application. However, each situation is a little different and may be subject to different timelines.

10:37:57 AM [Visitor] If it is time for recertification for both of us and I go and they do not go for their appointment . Why would they stop both of the cases?
10:40:33 AM [Jim Ashmore] If you are receiving benefits separately, they shouldn't.
