Non-Emergency Transportation Services (NET)
Adult Protective Services (APS):
This unit operates
421-LIFE, Hamilton County’s
24-hour line for reporting elder abuse, neglect (by self or others) and
exploitation.
State
law requires caseworkers to evaluate any risk to the
safety and well-being of alleged victims. If they find that there is a
risk, caseworkers work with families, social service agencies and other
community resources to meet the person's needs and to improve the
situation.
APS also provides temporary, part-time homemaker
services to help with routine tasks such as shopping and laundry.
Mt. Airy
Center for Homeless Men:
The staff at Mt. Airy Center for Homeless Men helps its customers make a new start in
life. Residents receive temporary shelter and food while working in the
community and participating in programs designed to help them gain
sobriety, self-esteem, discipline, and job experience.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Case Management :
This program of the federal Social Security
Administration provides a monthly check to adults and children with
disabilities. Integrated Services staff members help people file applications and appeals.
County Medical Services (CMS):
Staff in this unit help Hamilton County residents who do not
qualify for Medicaid because they are receiving Cash
Assistance through Ohio Works First. Staff help CMS
applicants gather the required medical documentation needed,
then forward it to the state where a decision is made.
CMS applicants must also apply for SSI. To
make an application appointment, call 1-800-772-1213
Monday through Friday, or
visit your nearest Social Security office.

program administered by the County Department of Job & Family Services for
Medicaid eligible customers. NET provides transportation to and from Medicaid
providers. Transportation authorization may be in the form of bus tokens, Taxi
cab, van services or mileage reimbursement.
