There may still be help available...even if you don't qualify for

food stamps, cash assistance or Medicaid coverage

Sometimes, individuals think one or a couple of short-term difficulties mean they may need to go on public assistance.

That's not always the case. Help may still be available through the PRC (Prevention, Retention and Contingency) Program. The PRC Program is designed to assist residents with a short-term or immediate need - for example, rent to prevent eviction or emergency dollars to pay an electric bill so that service is not cut off.

There are certain requirements to apply for the PRC Program:

  • A child must be living in the home, or a woman must be at least 6 months pregnant
  • Income limitations may also apply.

How can you apply?

  1. Click here to access an application. Print it and fill it out.
  2. Bring the completed application to our Document Drop-Off Center at 222 E. Central Pkwy. THE APPLICATION IS ONLY GOOD FOR 10 DAYS!

You will either see a worker the same day you drop off your application, or you will get an appointment time to return to complete the process.
