Public Records Requests

As a public office of the State of Ohio, Hamilton County is subject to the Ohio Public Records Act (Ohio Revised Code 149.43), which provides for prompt inspection of public records and requires copies of existing public records be provided in a reasonable period of time. It is the intent of the Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners to fully comply with both the Open Records and Open Meetings Acts.

Effective Sept. 27, 2007, the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners has adopted Personnel Policy Section 2.13 Public Records Policy, which outlines rules and procedures followed by Departments of the Board regarding public records requests and records retention.
