Child Care - Information on the new swipe cards

Swipe cards implemented Oct. 30

On Oct. 30, 2011 Hamilton County Job and Family Services replaced vouchers with swipe cards. Parents’ vouchers ended Oct. 29 and they are now required to swipe their children in and out each day. The new system will allow for better tracking of your taxpayer dollars.

Info for parents:

By now, parents should have received their new swipe cards and be actively using them at their providers. If you have not received a card, contact Hamilton County at (513) 946-1800. Caretakers contact ACS at 1-888-796-4322 to activate or replace the cards. The cards will only work with the authorized provider. If you already have an authorized provider, you just need to activate your card and swipe it when you use child care. If you plan to switch providers or add an authorized provider, please report it here.

Info for providers:

By now, providers should have their Point of Service devices installed. All child care providers should have completed and submitted an ACS Ohio ECC Provider Equipment Agreement to ACS. Please contact ACS at 1-888-516-4776 to request a copy. The Ohio ECC user manual is available here.

Don't forget: time and attendance information is available online. Providers should visit www.eccproviderweb.ohio.gov to access payment information, absences, co-payment amounts and authorization periods.

The cards will not work if you are not authorized and linked to the child in care. Authorization must be done prior to care. Authorization is easy. To add children, please report it here.

Providers that do not have a point of service device installed, or are serving consumers without a swipe card, will need to submit manual claims. Please find out more about how to submit a manual claim here.

You may still have some questions... Find more detailed info on the FAQ page.
