Medicaid is
state and federally funded health care
coverage. HCJFS administers Medicaid
programs that provide health care coverage
to:
Medicaid is very broad, with two major
covered groups, Aged, Blind, and Disabled
(ABD), and Covered Families and Children
(CF&C). Individuals that are not eligible for Medicaid because they are receiving cash assistance through Ohio Works First may be eligible for County Medical Services. Individuals who receive Medicare, but whose income is too high to qualify for Medicaid, may be eligible for the Medicare Premium Assistance Program. Healthy Start/Healthy Families: Some consumers may also be eligible for Healthy Start and Healthy Families. Healthy Start is for pregnant women and children up to 19 years old. Healthy Families covers children under age 19 and parents with incomes at or under 100 percent of the federal poverty level.
