Young to become FreeStore/Food Bank president, CEO

April 19, 2005 -- John Young has announced his resignation as welfare reform executive for Hamilton County Job and Family Services. Young will become the president and chief executive officer of the FreeStore/FoodBank. He will start his new position May 9.

“I look forward to continuing my career in service to disadvantaged people,” he said. “I know I’ll be working with JFS staff in the future to address community needs.”

Young pointed to collaborations that led to the development of Community Link, agency accreditation, transition of managed care services from Magellan to HCJFS, the agency's strategic plan, staffing the Human Services Planning Committee, and obtaining the new Super Jobs Center for the County and the Workforce Investment Board as key contributions during his service.

“I can look to several successes that were made possible due to the dedication and hard work of so many friends and associates in the agency,” he said. “Talented teams are the answer to so many problems, and this agency is full of good talent.”
