Program offered for home child care providers
Child experts to explain social, emotional development issues

Home child care providers certified by the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services (HCJFS) will learn about social and emotional development of children from top child experts at an August event. They will hear how to identify developmental issues and get practical ideas to help address those needs.

HCJFS is teaming with community partners to present Creating Strong Foundations for Children: A Series... Focus: Social and Emotional Development, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency, 1740 Langdon Farm Road.

The program features presentations from child development experts at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center/Every Child Succeeds and the University of Cincinnati. There also will be a panel discussion with the presenters and home care providers.

HCJFS Child Care Services covers part of the cost of child care for eligible low and moderate-income families. Parents choose from a list of more than 1,500 home providers and centers that have contracts with HCJFS.

Homes and centers are certified by Hamilton County or are licensed by the state. This ensures that they meet health, safety and training standards. HCJFS inspects certified homes at least twice a year.
