Grandparents raising grandchildren
Special forum in Blue Ash explains helpful services
March 3, 2008 -- Learn about services available for grandparents who
raise grandchildren in a special early-evening forum Wednesday, March 19, at the Sycamore
Senior Center in Blue Ash.
The free event -- featuring speakers from the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services, Children's Home of Cincinnati and the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio -- takes place 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the center at 4455 Carver Woods Drive.
Featured speakers include Travina Hogue of Child Support, Heather Smoot and Krishawna Scott of Family and Adult Services, and Mike Robinson of the Children's Home of Cincinnati. Children's Home runs support groups for grandparents, with babysitting available for their grandchildren during sessions. Laurie Petrie of the Council on Aging also is scheduled to share information.
There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
