Disability Medical Assistance (DMA) ends Oct. 31

Oct. 14, 2009 -- Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services has been working to find alternate medical care coverage for 29 people now served by the Disability Medical Assistance (DMA) program. The program officially ends Oct. 31.

Many of the clients may end up receiving other Medicaid coverage, depending on their current medical condition.

DMA primarily serves people who are waiting to be approved for federally funded Medicaid, or might not qualify based on the severity of their condition.

Ohio lawmakers ended the program as part of an effort to balance the state budget.
