Tax credits can help working families

Feb. 17, 2010 -- Working families served by the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services could benefit significantly from the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit as well as two new federal tax credits -- Making Work Pay Credit and the American Opportunity Tax Credit.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 expanded the EITC and Child Tax Credit and created the two new tax credits.
