HCJFS releases Most Wanted poster, plans Child Support amnesty

In an effort to locate some of the most delinquent parents in the Child Support system, Hamilton County Job and Family Services recently released a new Most Wanted poster.

Combined, the nine featured parents owe nearly half a million dollars to eighteen children.

Four employees recognized for extraordinary work  

Hamilton County Job and Family Services recently awarded four employees the  'Rock Star' title for their extraordinary work with the agency. If you know or work with one of these people, please take the time to congratulate them.

The four winners are Gaja Karyala, a compliance analyst; Monica Middleton, an independent living worker; Damita Cherry, Human Services Participation Supervisor; and Betty Cole, front desk worker. More...


Changes made to relieve lobby traffic

Several HCJFS departments are teaming up to help alleviate the crowds in the front lobby by trying some new approaches.

First, HCJFS is using a greeter to immediately identify the needs of the consumer before they go through security. The greeter is able to assist consumers with dropping off documents, picking up applications and in some cases directing them to go home to apply online so they don't have to stand in line. More...

Channel 5 recently did a fantastic feature story about the Higher Education Mentoring Initiative, a program designed to encourage foster children to pursue higher education even after they are emancipated from the foster care system.

The story profiles Jawari Potter, who has been in the foster care system since he was 12. Jawari is now a sophmore at the University of Cincinnati. Read the entire story and watch the video here.
