Each month,
Update features a child or sibling set available for
adoption through the Hamilton County Department of Job and
Family Services.
Deja is a delightful young lady, fun to be
around, smart and responsible. A well-rounded teen with
a variety of goals, likes and interests, she likes working with
animals. Her goal is to be a veterinarian. Deja also is writing a
book about friendship and would like to make a movie someday. She
wants to see the ocean or visit an aquarium with dolphins, her favorite animal.
Given her love of animals, it’s not surprising she
likes to watch Animal Planet. Deja also enjoys watching the
Lifetime movie network, National Geographic and the Discovery
Channel. Her favorite movies are Pirates of the
Caribbean 1, 2 and 3. She likes going to
the mall, seeing the latest movie, and listening to R&B and gospel
music.
Indoors or out, there are activities Deja enjoys. She likes watching funny movies, playing board games, girl talk with
friends and reading fiction books. Outdoors, she favors jumping
double-dutch or more adventurous activities like camping, kayaking
and canoeing. In addition, she enjoys going to Bible study and to
her local community center.
Deja likes school and earns good grades. Science is
her favorite class. The experiments are her favorite part. She
struggles some with math. After school she likes to be involved
with her school’s science club, do homework and read. She’s not
really into sports but would enjoy playing them recreationally.
An active, supportive and
nurturing adoptive family, where Deja would continue to thrive and
work toward her goals, would be great for her. It is Deja’s hope that her adoptive family
would have older children so that she would have siblings.
