Get to know some of our kids waiting
for a forever family
At any given time, nearly 200 Hamilton County children are looking for a permanent family to love and nurture them. Meet just a few of them here each week!
Brett, age 13
While
Brett’s favorite class at school is science, he does well in all of them.
He is an avid skateboarder, and has a great sense of humor. Brett also loves
being outdoors playing with other kids or the family’s pets.
This bold, eager pre-teen likes junk food, video games and listening to pop or rock music. Brett is dynamic, fun loving, and energetic. He lives life with enthusiasm.
Brett would thrive with a nurturing family who likes to be on the go and who can support him as he copes with the separation and loss he has experienced. Brett would benefit from spending time with a strong male who will model effective ways to communicate feelings, as this is a skill Brett is working on. Intermittent therapy and regular yearly medical check ups will be necessary for this dynamic young man.
Naiesha,
age 14
Although you might be surprised to meet a teenager who doesn’t like video games, all of the other things that Naeisha loves fit right into that typical teenage mold. R&B music is right up there, especially Beyonce. And after a new video debuts on MTV, Naeisha and her friends are immediately on the phone gossiping to each other about it.
Her good grades, intelligence and love of school will hopefully help Naeisha someday accomplish her goal of becoming a doctor or a lawyer, as will the support of a loving and caring family. Right now, her basketball career is of the utmost importance – this energetic girl loves playing for her school team and spends most afternoons practicing her jump shot.
Naeisha is hoping for a loving and kids family, and one that likes staying active.Isaiah, age 13
You are
sure to hear Isaiah’s energetic and captivating laughter when he’s playing his
favorite hands-on activities, like Wii, bowling or puzzles. However, there’s one
time of year when Isaiah ‘s laughing is almost non-stop … when summer arrives
and church festival season begins, Isaiah is in heaven. He absolutely can’t get
enough of the carnival rides and games!
Although Isaiah is a super fast runner and probably could be a strong contender in the Special Olympics, he prefers to watch from the stands and clap for the other participants. His love for praise and high-fives might just get him to that starting line someday, though!
A pleasant and lovable young man, Isaiah gives wonderful Eskimo kisses and hugs, and he has a strong desire to socialize and interact with other people. He would do wonderfully with a nurturing and patient family who will encourage him to continue to learn to communicate his needs and emotions.
Jacqueline,
age 12
Jacqueline’s creative streak means she is equally happy making crafts, or performing science lab experiments in Science class. Her interests span across a wide variety of activities, from skating and riding her bike, to reading or watching the latest Disney movie.
A bright and personable pre-teen, Jacqueline loves reading fiction books, going to the mall, or playing sports and games with her friends. Not only is she talented at school and in sports; on top of all of it, she’s also a great singer!
This dynamic and outgoing young woman has a bright future ahead of her, and really would like to be adopted by a big family who loves her. Parents who will support Jacqueline’s dreams of becoming a nurse would obviously be a great benefit to her dreams.Learshai, age 11
If you
are someone who loves cuddling and being close to your children, then Learshai
will definitely bring a smile to your face. This pleasant pre-teen loves having
her face rubbed or her hair brushed, and the physical contact she gets at
occupational and physical therapy is very enjoyable for her.
Learshai loves going to school and has a perpetual grin on her face. Her smile is one of her most beautiful features, and so at bath time and play time, it’s heartwarming to see her so happy.
This sweet girl would be best suited to a family with no other children who can bestow all of their love and affection on her.
Giavani,
age 12
Respectful and strong, Giavani loves sports. He’s partial to basketball, baseball and track and when he gets home from school, he can usually be found shooting hoops and practicing his jump shot.
A member of his church youth group, Giavani is quite popular at school and has tons of friends who he likes to hang out with. This smart pre-teen finds Science class fascinating and he appreciates and enjoys the hands-on experiments his teacher comes up with.
Giavani also loves to read and play board games with his foster family. His proudest moment was when he got to throw out the first pitch at a Reds game.
This courteous young man would be great with other siblings and would do well as part of an active, energetic family. Giavani’s sweet personality would make him a good fit just about anywhere.
