If you
think just a few older Hamilton
County children are waiting to be adopted, think again.
“There are 205 children in permanent custody
right now without an adoptive placement,” said John
Cummings, community adoption recruitment manager for
Hamilton County JFS. “Of those, 142 – over 69 percent – are
10 years old or older. And 113 – about 55 percent – have
been in custody longer than one year. They shouldn’t have to
wait.” |

Enter a new adoption
campaign launching later this month. HCJFS will
begin airing a new television commercial, followed by
targeted billboards and posters in various communities and
neighborhoods. Community outreach is also planned through
social groups and places of worship.
