Who Are the Waiting Children?

More than 200 children are waiting to be adopted in Hamilton County. They come from a variety of backgrounds, neighborhoods, economic circumstances, and living situations.

In Hamilton County, the majority of children available for adoption are:

  • African American

  • over the age of ten

While the majority of children waiting to be adopted come from situations of abuse and neglect, they are also just like any other children: they have hopes and dreams, favorite toys and pastimes, and career aspirations, to name a few. The only difference is their lives have been unstable or turbulent at one time or another.

Some have physical health, emotional health, and/or developmental challenges. In order to protect the privacy of our children, this information is not available on this website. More detailed information will be shared with prospective parents during the adoption process.

Regardless of their age, sex, race, physical or emotional status, these children need safe, loving, and permanent homes.

YOU can offer that stability to them!
